About Us

Introduction to our Church

We are a growing group of Christians from a wide variety of countries and church backgrounds but linked by a common love for Jesus and his Word. Our services are open to all, are structured but informal and you can be assured of a warm welcome. As you will see on our activities page, we run many events for children and young people and our greatest desire is to tell of our wonderful Saviour Jesus Christ. Please see this as an open and warm invitation to any of the activities that we run.

The Presbyterian Church in Fermoy has been in continual existence since 1818 and the present building was erected in 1834, so we have a long history in the town. The Presbyterian Church in Ireland serves the whole island with a total membership of around 300,000 in over 560 congregations. We are one of four main denominations in Ireland and are one branch of the worldwide Christian family, the one holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Church of Jesus Christ. We are part of the reformed Church rooted in a rediscovery of the bible’s teaching and as such, the bible is the supreme source of our doctrinal authority.

We Believe:

The bible is God’s word to us as contained in the Old and New Testaments.

The teaching of God’s word, prayer, praise and the sacraments of baptism and communion are central to our worship services.

We believe that Jesus is Lord and Saviour through His birth, death and resurrection.

We believe than each person must come into a relationship with God through forgiveness of their sins, through faith in Jesus Christ’s death for us on the cross.

We believe that God gives the Holy Spirit to each person who believes and confesses that Jesus is Lord of their lives and empowers them to live the Christian life.
